Monash University Caulfield Sound Shell is a music stadium that was designed by and built for Monash University students. It was an exciting project comprising of a number of global organisations working together to deliver a one of a kind venue. Alchemy Construct worked with MADA (Monash Architectural and Design Academy) to orchestrate and help the students and staff design and build this iconic structure. It comprises more than 12,000 individual pieces and was made using robotic fabrication (using a robot to cut and make parts). The build was a collaborative case study between German University Kassel and Monash University MADA. The best description we have heard of the project so far comes from photographer Kristoffer Paulsen – “It's like a cross between the Sydney Opera House and a Super Ninja Turtle".
