Acknowledgement of Country
Respecting Country. Strengthening Communities.
Alchemy Construct acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we build – the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation and the Wadawurrung people whose Country extends across Geelong and surrounding regions.
We pay our respects to Elders past and present and recognise their enduring connection to Country.
We believe building carries responsibility – to place, to people and to the future. For us, that means listening and learning from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and culture and taking action to help create an industry that is fairer and more inclusive. The spaces we deliver shape how people live and work.
They influence who feels welcome and represented. We are committed to ensuring our projects and our practices reflect respect, equity and genuine opportunity, and that the legacy we leave is one we can stand behind.
Our Reconciliation Action Plan
Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP)
We’re proud to have our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) formally endorsed by Reconciliation Australia. As part of the national RAP program, our Reflect RAP establishes the foundations for meaningful and lasting reconciliation by strengthening relationships, deepening respect and creating opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities and businesses.
Our RAP is a commitment to listening, learning and taking action. Through cultural awareness, engagement with Traditional Owners and the integration of reconciliation into our business practices, we aim to contribute to a more inclusive future while supporting the five dimensions of reconciliation: race relations, equality and equity, institutional integrity, unity and historical acceptance. As a Victorian construction company focused on creating buildings of impact, we recognise the important role we can play in advancing reconciliation and creating positive outcomes for the communities in which we work.
Our Artwork Story
Jeltchering Murrup - Fighting Spirit
We are people of earth.
We are people of Country. Our stories and spirit lie in the rust red soil that nurtures our grandfather trees that line the riverbanks and fill our forests that provide for us.
Our ancestors sing to us in the winds of the leaves that float to the soil to regenerate tomorrow’s seeds.
Our knowledge is in the songlines of these memories that imprint to the land and waterways.
We are custodians, we have always been wealthy.

About The Artist
Simone Thomson
Simone Thomson is a Melbourne-based Aboriginal artist and Traditional Owner of Victoria’s Woi-Wurrung Wurundjeri and Yorta Yorta language groups through her mother, with Irish and Scottish heritage through her father. Drawing inspiration from the Birrarung (Yarra River), Dhungala (Murray River) and the rich textures and colours of Country, her work reflects deep ancestral connections to waterways, Dreaming stories and cultural knowledge passed down through generations of her family.
As the first graduating student of Worawa Aboriginal College, Victoria’s first Aboriginal school, Simone began painting at the age of fifteen while creating her first Dreaming story. Today, her artwork continues a lifelong practice of cultural storytelling, inviting audiences to connect with the enduring stories, strength and spirit of Australia’s First Peoples.
