Can you spot the huge Eucalyptus Cinerea Tree which stands tall on our Wellington Child & Family Hub site?
This has always provided beautiful natural shade and is a focal point to the Centre – the children have enjoyed playing in and around it.
So when architects AOA Christopher Peck designed the new building, they took the tree into account and incorporated the impressive piece of nature into their design of the new building.
From the air this structure fans around the tree, and on the ground it is a commanding piece of nature in the space, which has been retained and protected.
Work is progressing well on the site in Mulgrave, the new state-of-the-art Centre is set to provide a range of community facilities for local families including; kinder rooms, maternal and child health services, community playgroups and family rooms.
