The EAE Centre of Excellence for the Weather of the 21st Century is a newly
established centre, researching how Australia’s weather is being reshaped
by climate change.
Led by Monash University, the team will be based out of
Clayton, home to 64 academic, professional and research staff.
An important project, Alchemy was appointed to reconfigure 750sqm of space
on level two, fitting the area with a mix of single and shared office spaces, PHD
students workstations, quiet rooms and new services. The project aimed to
modernise the larger format shared office environment, making it light filled and
flexible to promote greater collaboration amongst the team.
Faulty mechanical systems were reworked, space constraints were overcome,
and an “earthy” feel was brought in to match the building’s weather and earth
sciences focus.
