Founder and Director of Alchemy Construct, Jamie has transformed his business dreams that began from the comfort of his home to an award winning, innovative Construction Company delivering a high-level service.

Jamie has worked as a Project Manager on a multitude of major construction ventures as well as many tertiary and key public developments back in Australia as well as in his home country, Scotland.

His noteworthy projects include the redevelopment of the Point Cook Community Learning Centre, a multi-storey building joint to a library and a childcare centre, as well as the construction of the Victoria Police HQ Complex valued at $200 million.

After many years working in the industry, Jamie realised he wanted to develop a new type of construction company, a game changing business with a positive skilled and enthusiastic team that would go the extra mile.

Sarah is the Director of Brand and Marketing and co-founder of Alchemy Construct alongside her husband, Jamie Nicolson.

With a background in Broadcasting, PR and Marketing, Sarah brings a high level of expertise to Alchemy’s marketing and digital media presence. Working with a range of highly regarded photographers, videographers and like-minded clients, Sarah’s keen eye for style and attention to detail ensures that Alchemy and it’s projects, it’s people and the news stories it generates make a strong connection with the audience.

Passionate about brand management and company identity, Sarah has a unique ability to quickly build rapport with existing and potential clients and plays a key role in creating strong working relationships.

As well as working with the team at Alchemy, Sarah has her own creative business, Studio Dedikit, which focuses on her passion for photography, styling and brand presence.

Daniel Morgan is General Manager at Alchemy.

With a 20-year career in the construction industry, most recently as a Senior Commercial Manager, Daniel brings a wealth of experience and a proven ability to deliver.

Daniel has previously been involved in developing and evolving business growth within well-known construction companies and divisions across Victoria and other states of Australia.

Daniel shares Alchemy’s passion and values and is a fantastic asset to our team. He helps us to continue to grow and develop, taking us to the next level projects-wise, with a focus on the future direction of the business, and the continued nurturing of a high performing team.

Not only is Marinos’ (or Murray, as he likes to be known) bright and positive personality super infectious, but his proven ability to drive commercial growth across many different divisions within a number businesses, as well as his wealth of experience, makes him an incredible asset to the Alchemy team.

Having led People Capability and Development for a large national Pharmaceutical company, a former GM of People and Performance at the Rubicor Group and the Head of Talent Management for the Adecco Group – both in Australia and London, Murray is currently working across all areas of the business – both in office and on site – to help streamline the rapid growth of the team, as well as cement and continue the strong company culture and values that Alchemy stand for.

With a focus on employee experience, culture and engagement, talent, leadership and organisational development, Murray supports our growth, with plans for state and long-term international expansion.

Ainsley’s keen attention to detail and strategic approach have been instrumental in the success of numerous projects, fostering strong relationships with project teams and stakeholders alike. Her wealth of experience and dedication to excellence make her an invaluable asset to our team, driving success and delivering outstanding results in every endeavour.

Braham has 30 years experience in construction, starting his career in the mining sector constructing mineral sands mines throughout Australia, then moving into the D&C field in the chemical, food, petrochemical and pharmaceutical industries. With such a solid foundation, Braham then upsized into the commercial and retail arena working with Tier2 builders, gaining further experience across the full breadth of industry sectors, working on several projects up to $100M.

Braham is a focused and skilled Construction Manager, is highly respected by his peers and subcontractors, and provides strong and ‘big picture’ leadership. With excellent people management skills, and a full understanding all technical matters, Braham is able to focus on critical project issues early to ensure they’re addressed comprehensively in a risk-mitigating manner.

A qualified Quantity Surveyor, Liam commenced his career in Ireland before moving to Australia.

With 15+ years of industry experience, Liam has a proven track record of bidding for and winning quality projects, as well as developing strong relationships within key industry contacts. A cool head under pressure with an adaptable attitude, Liam enables success by supporting his colleagues and leading a high performing team.

His very sound knowledge of construction methodologies and site management procedures, mean that together with strong design and construct capabilities, he ensures overall comprehensive tender proposals. Liam will lead our tender team, and help support our continued growth as we step into the Tier 2 market.

Commencing his career in Ireland before moving to London and subsequently Australia, Adrian has 10+ years of Site Management and Contract Administration experience. A sound understanding of site works was gained managing a broad range of trades with Glenman Corporation in London on two major Primary Schools projects, where Adrian produced outstanding results to strict deadlines. Adrian has a strong passion for detailed fit-outs, co-ordinating the building services, and can drive a large programme of works to non-negotiable deadlines.

Adrian’s previous stint as a site manager, always ensuring works are completed with minimal impact to adjacent business operations, was illustrated during the delivery of Monash Medical Centre E1 Teaching Space and Monash University’s Living Lab.  Adrian prides himself on a pro-active approach to the project benefit, with a thorough technical understanding and the delivery of comprehensive, concise correspondence.

With a robust background, John has contributed his expertise to notable projects such as the North East Link Suburban Rail Loop and the Melbourne Airport Rail. Prior to joining us, John served at WSP, where he provided invaluable guidance to the Victorian/SA division. His unwavering passion for health and safety is evident in his commitment to ensuring that each of our sites adheres to the highest HSEQ standards every single day. Angus is a key player in both our Estimating team. Hailing from Scotland, Angus holds a Masters’s degree in Mechanical and Electronic Systems Engineering. Prior to joining Alchemy, he gained valuable experience as a technician at Emergya Wind Technologies, working on large-scale infrastructure projects.

Since joining our team in Australia, Angus has taken on the responsibilities of estimating and project coordination for the Minor Works and Facilities Management Team. This involves scrutinising quotes, liaising with subcontractors, and communicating effectively with project stakeholders. His meticulous attention to detail and extensive knowledge of services ensure that our clients receive well-thought-out proposals aimed at providing effective solutions.

As a dynamic and accomplished Senior Project Manager with over 20 years’ of extensive experience and proven capabilities. Christian has an excellent record in delivering complex projects and a track record of managing multi-discipline teams to deliver projects on time and within budget against aggressive targets.

Christian oversees and guides our Project Managers from project commencement through to completion and is the main point of contact for our clients. He has a unique and proven ability to manage both company and sub-contractor relationships to ensure a cohesive approach is obtained in delivering challenging projects.

With his strong technical acumen, Christian successfully managed the delivery of multi-million-dollar projects across Melbourne, Mornington Peninsula, West Melbourne and the Northern Territory.

With a team orientated attitude, Christian is a manager who believes success is driven through open communication and accountability, and is able to deliver positive outcomes for the team.

Nick is a seasoned Senior Contracts Administrator with a wealth of experience in commercial construction. His background in architecture, combined with his tenure at a large architectural firm, has honed his keen eye for detail.

Nick places a strong emphasis on cultivating relationships with all project stakeholders to ensure the successful commercial delivery of projects. He is particularly focused on selecting subcontractors who align with Alchemy’s values, emphasising quality workmanship and a commitment to delivering top-notch projects.

As a dedicated professional, Nick was part of the winning team for the Property Council of Australia’s 2022 Project Team of the Year for his work on the Vic Pride Centre. Additionally, the project received the prestigious William Wardell Architecture Award for Public Architecture.

Amanda is an integral part of our Minor Works team, contributing her expertise to a variety of projects in local government, education, health, and commercial sectors. With her role as a skilled Contract Administrator, Amanda has successfully handled projects with budgets surpassing $25M, effectively coordinating subcontractors, trades, and stakeholders.

Drawing from her background in Industrial Engineering, Amanda adeptly reviews both civil and architectural documentation, conducts thorough scope assessments and offers cost-effective design solutions to clients. Her keen attention to detail extends to her on-site involvement where she engages with stakeholders to ensure compliance with safety, environmental and quality standards.

In her role, Amanda takes charge of project and contract management throughout construction, particularly focusing on early procurement and pre-construction phases. Her strong leadership ensures project objectives are met and potential risks are identified and addressed.

Dom is a valued Site Manager at Alchemy, bringing a wealth of experience from the education, council, and commercial sectors. Originally from the United Kingdom, Dom relocated to Australia, infusing his work with a keen eye for detail and a positive can-do attitude.

His portfolio includes a range of intricate projects, such as a £42 million scheme in Cambridge involving sustainable homes and complex renewable energy installations. Dom’s knack for handling unique and challenging projects is the cornerstone of his success. He prioritises Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment (OHSE) standards and ensures that client requirements are met while delivering projects on schedule and within budget.

Dom’s expertise lie in staging and managing work areas to minimise disruptions to existing occupants, showcasing his adeptness in navigating complex environments.

Having successfully completed multi-million dollar construction projects within the education, health, corrections and residential sectors across his career, Nathan is known for his ability to complete complex projects on time and under budget.

Within team Alchemy, Nathan has sight over all of our current projects and is working closely with the Project Management team to ensure the smooth delivery of projects and the streamlining of operations – both in office and on site.

William is a committed Contract Administrator, driven by a strong work ethic and a passion for achieving top-notch project outcomes. He kickstarted his career in New Zealand, gaining valuable experience at LT McGuiness where he worked as a Quantity Surveyor on a variety of commercial and residential projects. From managing tenders to settling final accounts, William is skilled in client and consultant interactions, handling monthly progress claims and reports, cash flow forecasting, procurement, and subcontractor management.

Based out of our Geelong office, William provides a keen interest in delivering sustainable solutions and has previously spearheaded initiatives such as implementing Green Star strategies for campus-wide carbon management plans on commercial projects in Wellington. He has also led the execution of WELL building strategies for the New Zealand Transport Agency Fitout.

Frank Lombardo

Frank brings over four decades of construction experience to the table, starting his journey at EA Watts Constructions and subsequently lending his expertise to various renowned organisations such as the Master Builders Association, Ranteed Constructions, Prada Projects, Ruby Projects, and Silver Hill Construction. With a footprint in Victoria and South Australia, Frank’s career spans across diverse sectors including residential, commercial, office, health, aged care, education, and retail.

Among his notable projects is the $158M Waterford Valley Knox Retirement Village, a complex endeavor comprising civil works, 1,800 independent living units, a community center, restaurants, recreational facilities, and wetlands.

Frank boasts extensive knowledge of the building industry, having held senior management roles both as a consultant and a builder, representing both clients and builders. Armed with exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, Frank ensures timely and budget-friendly project delivery. His adept people management skills and comprehensive understanding of projects from design to practical completion enable effective communication among all stakeholders.

After earning her Bachelor of Design in Architecture from The University of Melbourne, Hannah began her journey with Alchemy as a Cadet, gradually expanding her industry experience into roles such as Design and Project Coordinator. Offering continuous support to the Alchemy team, Hannah recently collaborated with our Construction Manager, Frank Lombardo, and Design Manager, Krysti Henderson, on the $13M LaTrobe Private Hospital Project. This project marks stage one of the broader masterplan expansion for the North Eastern Health Cluster, involving demolition, hazardous material removal, and refurbishment across three levels.

Hannah finds fulfilment in working on health and community projects, where she can leverage her skill-set to contribute to the creation of top-notch facilities. She enjoys collaborating with like-minded stakeholders to deliver solution-focused projects.

Bill is an accomplished Site Manager whose career journey showcases his remarkable progression. Starting out as a qualified carpenter, he spent nearly two decades working across various roles, including as an asset owner, contract controller, and self-employed subcontractor. During this time, Bill specialised in high-end luxury apartment and townhouse projects, with some reaching up to $45M in Victoria.

Transitioning into the aged care and commercial sectors, Bill worked on notable projects like the Waverley Park Stadium and the Commonwealth Games Village. Here, he successfully managed multiple subcontractors on site, demonstrating his ability to handle diverse projects.

Bill’s track record speaks for itself, with a history of delivering multi-million dollar projects on time and within budget. From overseeing structural sequencing to coordinating trades and fostering positive relationships with stakeholders, Bill ensures effective cost and risk management throughout.

Ady is a seasoned Project Manager with over 12 years of experience in the field. Before joining Alchemy, Ady honed his skills at the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA), where he managed more than ten projects across Victoria totalling $60M. His expertise spans project management, contracts administration and site management.

At the VSBA, Ady handled various responsibilities including design management, consultant and contractor evaluation, procurement and defects liability management. He’s adept at resource allocation, juggling competing timelines, and has strong budgeting, programming, and quality control skills.

Now, at Alchemy, Ady is leveraging his leadership abilities to oversee project teams, ensuring successful project execution.

With over 7 years of experience in the customer service and administrative space, and having worked across a variety of different spaces, no task is too big or too small for Verity.

With a passion for people and the ability to connect and support where necessary, she is a true burst of energy in the office and her hands-on approach to completing tasks makes her a valuable part of the Alchemy team.

Albi is part of Alchemy’s team as a Contract Administrator, bringing in experience from various sectors including health, education, commercial, and infrastructure projects. Prior to joining Alchemy, Albi played a crucial role in the design and construction of Moorabbin Airport. He handled everything from project scoping to permits, ensuring smooth administration from beginning to end.

Recently, Albi collaborated closely with Alchemy’s project managers on the Barwon Health Health Education and Research Building (HERB) Fitout in Geelong. This $2M project, carried out in a live environment, significantly improved Deakin University’s research facilities with enhanced workspaces and specialised clinical trial areas.

Albi’s expertise lies in sub-contract letting, due diligence, project scoping, and meticulous management of project documentation. He approaches his work with a keen eye for detail and a systematic mindset, ensuring clear communication with all stakeholders and subcontractors.

Starting his career in the United Kingdom, Jack has accumulated over six years of experience in Contract Administration and Commercial Management. Throughout his career, he has managed projects from their inception to practical completion. With expertise in subcontractor letting, cost reporting, stakeholder management, and quality assurance, Jack has honed his skills particularly in the health and education sectors of the construction industry.

Jack is a proficient Contract Administrator, backed by a Master of Quantity Surveying and a Degree in Business Management. These qualifications form the foundation of his day-to-day operations, providing him with a comprehensive technical understanding of construction processes.

Finnbarr has a diverse background in both Australia and New Zealand, working on a wide range of projects including maintenance, facilities management, and new builds. Before joining Alchemy, he played a pivotal role at LT McGuinness, a major construction company in New Zealand, where he spearheaded the establishment of their Auckland facilities and maintenance division.

With his extensive project management experience, Finnbarr has successfully handled day-to-day operations for various large-scale residential projects and portfolios. He’s skilled in quality assurance, claims management, and reporting, utilising his strong stakeholder management and communication abilities to nurture lasting client relationships through defect liability periods and ongoing maintenance.

Currently, Finnbarr leads Alchemy’s Facilities Management Team, overseeing maintenance projects for esteemed institutions like Monash University and Charter Hall.

Having worked as a Contract Administrator in both Christchurch and London, Dylan’s experience in the construction industry extends beyond Australian borders!

With a degree in Quantity Surveying, Dylan began his early career as a CA, working his way into an Estimating role. Now with us at Alchemy, he is part of our Estimating and Tender team, helping to secure a number of exciting large-scale projects for the business.

Having previously worked on a number of projects for Melbourne Airport, we know that Dylan’s industry experience is a great asset to Team Tender, and the wider Alchemy team.

With over 15 years of experience in the construction industry, Skye brings a wealth of knowledge spanning residential, retail, health, and education projects with values up to $24M.

In her role, Skye oversees the preparation and management of contracts, as well as the approval and processing of client and subcontractor progress claims. Additionally, she will provide monthly reports to track project progress.

Excelling in building strong relationships with all project stakeholders, utilising her exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, Skye is also able to employ strategic problem-solving skills to align project objectives with equipment and labor requirements while adhering to budgetary and timeline constraints.

Commencing his professional career with Alchemy, Stefano completed the final year of his Diploma of Building and Construction at RMIT whilst also working as part of the Alchemy team.

Stefano is a motivated team member, with his ‘pull-the-sleeves-up’ attitude, he has exposure and experience in contract administrating and project coordinating, specifically – liaising with subcontractors, financing, scoping works to setup projects, assisting in swift correspondence and solving problems that may arise.

Shane Whiteley has more than 30 years’ experience in the building industry. A qualified carpenter, he ran his own carpentry company for 16 years.

During this time, he specialised in domestic housing including renovations, extensions, kitchen make overs and new builds. He also participated in larger projects – for example, the re-building of St Catherine’s Greek Orthodox Church in East Malvern following its destruction by fire. Shane is used to leading a cohesive, motivated team and is a stickler for producing quality workmanship.

Since joining Alchemy Construct, Shane has been involved in a variety of projects. Most recently, projects have included the successful completion of the new Stroke Unit fit out at Royal Melbourne Hospital. Shane worked as a key member of the team that successfully delivered this world class, multi-million-dollar project two weeks ahead of schedule.

As a highly organised and proactive Contract Administrator with a background in Quantity Surveying and Engineering, Matt has previously worked internationally on the $610M high-end Embassy Gardens Apartments Development in London, where he managed 3 Quantity Surveyors, produced monthly commercial reporting of out-turns, variations and cash flow, and liaised with cross functional teams including Architects, Solicitors, and site related consultants.

With a strong technical background and foundation, Matt is highly proficient in trade package procurement and subsequent sub-contractor administration and management. He prides himself on clear and accurate project financials, and developing a close relationship with all projects stakeholders to ensure a high level project is delivered.

Starting his career in New Zealand, he began his journey in Australia as a landscaper, contributing to projects such as the Australian Open. Now an integral part of the Alchemy team, Noah’s diverse background in operations, training, and construction has honed his communication and mentoring skills, fostering a supportive work environment.

Known for his pragmatic approach, Noah tackles daily challenges with a passion for problem-solving, especially in live environments. He genuinely enjoys collaborating with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders, ensuring attention to detail and competent delivery of each project to a high standard of quality.

Leon is an experienced Contract Administrator/ Estimator, having worked across a range of commercial, residential, educational and government projects, gaining broad experience on projects of up to $12M. Leon is well qualified with a Master in Project Management that underpins his day-to-day activities, with a very thorough technical understanding of construction works.

Early in his career Leon was involved in a multitude of residential developments and high-end pre-fabricated construction, and also developed knowledge with specialist healthcare and aged care projects. Since joining Alchemy Construct Leon has worked on public sector and education projects, including works for Monash and RMIT universities.

Sean commenced his career in the construction industry as a carpenter in Ireland, and since arriving in Australia in 2001 quickly progressed to a Project Manager role delivering a wide variety of projects, including new builds, major refurbishments and fitouts. During this time, Sean has gained invaluable experience in residential, education, health and aged care sectors, and prides himself on safely delivering works in “live” environments.

Sean has delivered numerous technical and challenging projects, and in 2011 and 2012 received two Master Builder Association of Victoria awards for Excellence in Construction and Excellence in Safety. Sean received further recognition by the receipt of an Australian Institute of Building (AIB) high commendation award in construction in the “Commercial Building $10-50M” category for Monash Health’s Kingston Centre Central project in 2018 – a highly complex project requiring meticulous site planning and execution.

Sarah is a driven and self-motivated Site Coordinator, currently pursuing a Master of Project Management. With a background as a nurse for over six years, she transitioned to the construction industry, bringing her keen attention to detail, adept stakeholder management skills, and expertise in coordinating live health environments.

She is currently involved in critical endoscopy upgrades for Holmesglen Private Hospital, John Fawkner Private Hospital, Melbourne Private Hospital, and Ringwood Private Hospital. Working closely with the Alchemy site team and hospital representatives, Sarah ensures safety and environmental controls are maintained throughout the process. Before joining Alchemy Construct James worked on Christchurch’s infrastructure re-build following the 2011 earthquake damage, managing major infrastructures services pipeline replacements.

James has extensive experience in tertiary education fitouts, with a particular capacity to complete works with major programme challenges, raising energy levels of the team to achieve the client’s deadline. James expanded his project management experience more recently to include building extension/construction works, focuses on maintaining safe operation of ongoing activities in the immediate vicinity of the works, and appreciates client protocols for managing isolations and work permits when operating on busy campuses and public sites.

James develops strong communications with the client, is highly collaborative with the design team to deliver their vision, and has often refined design aspects for the overall project benefit.

Garry’s role involves providing assistance to project managers across particular trades; managing the more complex key site installation activities including cranage, structure and the mechanical services risers and associated works, where his planning and programming of works permits a high level of on-site activity to meet the aspirational programme.

In relation to site safety, Garry has a great appreciation of on-site OHS&E requirements, and works notice processes.

One of Jason’s notable projects was the $900M Power Station Project in London, where he worked closely with a team of site engineers. This project involved retaining the existing facade and chimneys of a power station while constructing luxury retail units and apartments within a concrete frame. Daily communication with his workforce was essential for the safe delivery of the project, and Jason played a key role in conducting toolbox talks and participating in site management meetings.

Jason’s experience in diverse working environments positions him well for future projects. He prioritises Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment (OHSE) standards and ensures that client requirements are met while delivering projects on time and within budget.

Darren Malee is an experienced Senior Site Manager who started life as a Carpenter and Joiner, working for many years with one of London’s most prestigious joinery companies, Brown and Carroll. Darren was part of the team that delivered the athletes village refurbishment in Stratford for the London Olympics 2012, and progressed quickly to become a Site Manager with Lendlease in London on a variety of commercial building projects, including the $2.5Bn regeneration of Elephant and Castle Park project.

Darren has managed various office and teaching space fitouts within the Education sector, and was integral to the delivery of the Camberwell Primary School library extension project 11 weeks ahead of schedule. Darren also delivered the major redevelopment and refurbishment at the Abbotsford Primary School heritage building, where careful attention to both facade and internal features were deemed a major success factor.

It’s important a site manager has a keen eye for detail, and Mitch is proud of his portfolio of projects completed with the absolute minimal defects at the time of the architect’s initial walk-throughs. Mitch has successfully delivered over 15 major fitout projects in the tertiary education sector, completed a quality cafe fitout in the foyer of 120 Spencer St in the CBD, and has a focus on strict adherence to OHS&E in the delivery of all works in the “live” and hectic school environments.

Prior to joining Alchemy, Anne launched the ‘Women in Plumbing’ programme, from initiation phase, she then managed and mentored apprentices, building a network of 90 female plumbers. Recognising her incredible achievements in the industry, Anne was also nominated in 3 categories for 2024’s Empowered Women in Trades Awards, taking home the prize for Exceptional Human Skills, Cultural Change Maker and Industry Leader – Diversity and Inclusion.

Currently, Jared is deeply involved in coordinating the $14M RMIT Trades Innovation Hub project. This project presents unique challenges, including complex fixtures and fittings such as a 2.5-meter deep sand pit, a multi-story training rig, and welding bays. Jared has been part of the project since its inception, meticulously cross-referencing and marking up drawings to ensure timely and efficient procurement of project scope and effective administration of RFIs. He works closely with Alchemy’s site and project teams to ensure smooth project execution.
