Each team member has been hand picked for their skills, their personalities and because they reflect all the things we care about - hard work, skill, positivity, passion, loyalty and going the extra mile. Without our people, Alchemy Construct would not be what it is today.
Jamie’s business dreams began from the comfort of his own home, and he has grown them to create an award winning, innovative construction company. Jamie's professionalism and sense of humour has attracted likeminded individuals to work for him and alongside him, allowing him to acquire an experienced team with ‘can do’ attitudes.
Jamie formed Alchemy after many years working in the industry. He realised he wanted to develop a new age game changing construction company with a positive, skilled enthusiastic team that would go 'the extra mile’.
Jamie has managed many prestigious developments and projects including; Glasgow Harbour, Green Chemical Futures (Monash University), Victoria Police HQ as well as a multitude of tertiary and key public developments.
Brendon has developed a wealth of experience over his 25+ years in the construction industry. An excellent communicator, Brendon focuses on pre-planning works and contractual procurement and ensures the sub-contractors are committed to a team approach for works requiring a “live” work environment.
Brendon has a vast experience within the industry from his years of Directorship on client side, development manager and building practitioner. He has a reputation for being thorough and is well across the detail in everything he does, which makes him an amazing asset with quality assured.
Ibosh is one of our Project Managers. He is a very hands-on project manager and is highly proficient in the day-to-day construction activity requirements to ensure projects proceed smoothly and with imminent completion.
He has worked in the Construction industry for 10 years on many projects and is a true Alchemist having vast experience in projects within the science sector i.e: laboratories, research facilities and science related works.
As a specialist in the tertiary education sector, Ibosh had worked on a number of very successful projects across some of Victoria's largest Universities.
Rhona MacLean is Director Jamie’s Executive Assistant and our super organiser. Rhona ensures the heart of our operations runs smoothly and brings vast experience with her.
She has worked for over 25 years + with some of Melbourne’s top businessmen and women, helping businesses to grow their capacity while supporting the staff and senior teams along the way.
When she is not diligently looking after us all you will find Rhona off on an exotic jaunt somewhere in the globe and enjoying time with her family and friends.
Leon is an experienced Contract Administrator / Estimator who has worked on both commercial and residential projects.
Over the past 6 years, Leon has gained broad experience working on projects of up to $12M in education, healthcare, aged care and several Council developments. He has also been involved in a multitude of residential developments.
Since joining Alchemy Construct, Leon has worked on public sector and education projects including works for Monash and RMIT universities.
Leon is well qualified with a Master in Project Management which underpins his day to day activities.
Commencing her career running a successful civil and landscape family business, Pauline then entered the construction industry as an Estimator, developing a detailed understanding of the industry from “the ground up”, initially working in structural steel, concrete and civil fields. Pauline progressed into fit-out and new construction works across a variety of industries in South Australia, taking on senior roles and honing her project management skills delivering a substantial portfolio of commercial and retail touts, where her attention to detail achieved some great quality outcomes.
Since returning to Victoria Pauline delivered numerous commercial CBD office fit-outs, and is a proven Project Manager where her multi-faceted skill-set shines through when successfully managing a multitude of smaller projects, and delivering on tight programmes for more detailed and complex works ranging up to $6M+.
Sarah has over 10 years experience in the construction industry, having started her career as a Project Coordinator and as her love for the industry grew she moved into Structural drafting where she gained great insight into the coordination of technical construction aspects, with many projects on major industrial and mining sites.
Sarah gained extensive experience in project delivery of multiple projects across the oil and gas, residential and commercial sectors, and her knowledge grew with a stint as an estimator to further round her skillset in fitouts.
Sarah has a strong passion for continual learning in the construction, which combined with her attention to detail, she always produces quality outcomes for her clients. Sarah enjoys fast-track fitouts, and the safety of the site is always paramount in her diligent site supervision and sub-contractor management.
Brian began his career as a contract administrator gaining valuable experience working on multiple types and sizes of projects across industrial, commercial, residential, and educational sectors.
Brian also offers a wealth of experience in project management, having lead The Glen Shopping Centre Redevelopment project - a 20,000 sqm expansion that included new and refurbished malls, food court, restaurant precinct, associated car parking and infrastructure for three residential towers.
During his years of experience working with a number of tier2 builders, Brian developed high levels of competence in head-contract and sub-contract administration, programming and scheduling of works, as well as value management. Brian has excellent communication skills for pro-active project information ow, very sound construction technical skills, and works well across the various project stakeholders at all times.
Viet recently joined Alchemy while finishing his final year in Engineering at Monash University.
Being the youngest team member Viet has great energy and no task is too tall.
In a very short time he has become an integral part of the team and has been helping in various roles across the business.
Darren Malee is an experienced Site Manager who started life as a Carpenter and Joiner.
He worked for many years with one of London’s most prestigious joinery companies Brown and Carroll and was part of the team that delivered the athletes village refurbishment in Stratford for the London Olympics 2012.
More recently Darren worked as Site Manager with Lend Lease London on a variety of commercial building projects, including the $2.5b regeneration of Elephant and Castle, part of the Elephant Park project.
Darren has been managing various fit-out projects with Alchemy within the Education sector and office fit-outs specifically.
A Civil Engineer by trade, James was part of the team that worked in the aftermath of the Christchurch Earthquake in New Zealand.
He specialises in site management requirements when implementing all projects, and often receives highly positive feedback from clients based on his ability to keep all parties fully informed of works planning on a daily basis.
He has a very hands on approach when it comes to projects and is always fully aware and involved at every stage of works and across every challenge along the way.
James has undertaken a number of projects for Alchemy within the education sector, including works at both Monash and RMIT University.
Commencing his career in Ireland before moving to London and subsequently Australia, Adrian has 9+ years of Site Management and Contract Admin experience. A sound understanding of site works was gained managing a broad range of trades with Glenman Corporation in London on two major Primary Schools projects, where Adrian produced outstanding results to strict deadlines. Adrian has a strong passion for detailed touts, co-ordinating the building services, and can drive a large program of works to not negotiable deadlines.
Adrian’s diligent site management ensures works are completed with minimal impact to adjacent business operations, illustrated during a Monash Medical Centre refurb job to the strict hospital environment requirements, with high-level finishes delivered. Adrian prides himself on a pro-active contact administration approach to the project benefit, with a thorough technical understanding and comprehensive and concise correspondence.
Greg is a highly experienced Site Manager who has recently joined the Alchemy Construct team.
Greg has a broad range of Site Management experience in hospital, tertiary education and commercial and residential construction.
Having commenced as a builder, Greg progressed through interior fit-outs (commercial and industrial), and more recently was an integral member of the team that delivered significant infrastructure services at the Austin and Mercy Hospitals throughout 2016 - 2017.
Mitch is a Site Manager that brings a wealth of knowledge to Alchemy Construct starting his career from the ground up. Mitch is a quali ed carpenter that has a strong passion for high level nishes and a keen eye for detail.
More recently Mitch has been involved in the highly successful ACJC Fit-out on Levels S8/S9 at Monash University, as well as the completed cafe tout in the foyer of 120 Spencer Street. Currently managing the Camberwell Primary School site, Mitch has successfully delivered over 15 major projects in the tertiary education sector.
Luke brings a wealth of experience to the Alchemy team offering expertise in both project management and contracts administration ensuring budget delivery of complex projects.
Luke has a strong knowledge of the Building Codes of Australia, standards and construction planning and offers commitment to team environments, managing stake holder engagement and consultants alike. His analytical problem solving in collaboration with his strong work ethic ensures delivery.
Matt has remarkable experience in site management and is extremely knowledgeable of building regulations and best practices in all aspects of construction with over 12 years of experience in the industry. Matt provides expert direction in all aspects of site management as he has accumulated an extensive ability to lead diverse teams with particular focus on safe operations within the site vicinity.
Matt has developed considerable leadership qualities during his abundance of experience in the commercial and residential sectors ensuring satisfaction throughout. Particularly focussing on preparation of trades and timeframes, he appreciates the clients deadlines and plans ahead accordingly.
