In late 2023, Alchemy began one of its most significant heritage undertakings yet, the restoration and renewal of the Barwon Heads Golf Club – a century-old landmark with deep architectural and community value.
The brief was clear: preserve its legacy while preparing it for the decades ahead.
What followed was an eighteen-month collaboration defined by vision, precision, and shared purpose.
A heritage restoration of rare complexity
Working alongside Demaine Partnership, Nexus Designs and an exceptional site team, Alchemy set out to reimagine the clubhouse with careful consideration for every material, every detail and every decision.
The challenge wasn’t just to restore the building, it was to honour its original character while elevating its functionality and longevity for future generations.
The solution brought together three key pillars:
