Alchemy recently took on this incredible project which entailed a fit-out of the level 8 shell of the 1B building at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. Delivering 31 dedicated stroke unit beds with 10 of those being high dependency beds (HDU). The new unit will provide world class care for stroke patients as well as patients with other neurological conditions.
Working in a sensitive hospital environment required detailed staged works to address secure and isolated construction at all times. Alchemy Construct ensured ongoing emergency pedestrian pathways were maintained at all times, alongside appropriate service isolations and other safety provisions crucial to the 24/7 hospital environment.
