News & Press — Our Co-founder & Director Sarah Anne Has Been Recognised At This Year’s NAWIC VIC Awards

We are thrilled to announce that our co-founder and Director Sarah Anne was recognised at the NAWIC VIC Awards on Friday, 11th February 2022 with a Commendation in the category ‘Outstanding Achievement as a Businesswoman’ sponsored by Icon Construction.

NAWIC’s work is fundamentally important for our industry, supporting, enhancing and advocating for women in the sector.

Speaking about the award Sarah Anne said: “I am absolutely beyond thrilled to have received this Commendation. Being recognised in this way by NAWIC means so much to me. Everything we can do to enhance and increase female participation in the industry is paramount. Companies that represent society at large are much happier, healthier, more successful places and at Alchemy, as we continue to grow and bring phenomenal women into the business, we thrive.”

“Sarah Anne’s vision inspires not only Alchemy but also aims to create a positive shift in the wider construction industry, emphasising the human side and legacy aspects of construction.”

One of NAWIC’s aspirations by 2025 is to have a minimum participation rate of 25% of women in the construction industry. As of today our current female representation at Alchemy is 26%, with us striving hard to continue to increase this to a target of 50% by 2025, and earlier if we can!

The panel said: “As a founder of Alchemy Construct since 2015, Sarah Anne has grown her business in Melbourne, and now employs nearly 60 people with a company turnover of $100M. By capitalising on her background in public relations, broadcasting and marketing, Sarah Anne continues to lead her company while recently driving a complete rebrand seeking to reposition the business. Sarah Anne’s vision inspires not only Alchemy but also aims to create a positive shift in the wider construction industry, emphasising the human side and legacy aspects of construction. Sarah Anne’s focus on brand and culture captures the very nature of a successful NAWIC Businesswoman that the judges considered to be worthy of recognition and celebration.”

Our team had a brilliant night and also celebrated our Project Manager Pauline’s nomination in the Lendlease Building and Construction Award for her exceptional work running ACMD Stage 1 at St Vincent’s Hospital in the peak of the Covid epidemic.

Well done ladies! Much to be celebrated.
