The construction and refurbishment of the Lilydale Primary School building revitalised tired teaching areas with highly functional spaces to assist flexible educational spaces and improving the learning and teaching conditions for students and staff by opening up seven classrooms to grant more space for day-to-day educational activities. The open-plan design allows staff to choose between individual or combined areas, and the fitout included specialist multi-functional joinery, new lights and new storage facilities.
Durable and aesthetically pleasing wall finishes will stand the test of time for these heavily utilised spaces. The physical education area was opened-up to provide a uniform ceiling line, with more fluent and cohesive educational spaces created. Alchemy Construct paid special attention to the acoustic performance of the classrooms to achieve an optimal learning experience for the pupils.
